Physical Education

Your child will also need a PE Kit that will remain in school for the duration of each half term. You will need to purchase a purple PE t-shirt (available with a school logo), along with black PE shorts. Both of these, along with a logo PE bag can be purchased from Broadwater Sports. Your child will also need a pair of trainers that they can easily take on and off. During the winter months please also provide jogging bottoms for keeping warm outside. They are allowed to wear their school jumper too (the purple hoodies available are ok for PE but are not part of our daily uniform or mandatory for PE).

On your child’s PE days, they will need any earrings removed or covered with surgical tape nand long hair should be tied up (please note the school cannot remove earrings). Children from Reception class up to year 4 shall wear their uniform to school and will change into their PE kits at school. The children in year 5 and 6 can come to school in their PE kit for the day.

You can view the PE days here.

Jewellery

Children should not wear jewellery in school. For safety reasons children with pierced ears should only wear studs or small sleepers please. West Sussex Local Education Authority’s policy is that for health and safety reasons, children are not allowed to wear earrings during PE. Earrings should be either removed or taped over on PE lesson days(please note the school cannot remove earrings).

Birthdays

We love celebrating Birthdays at Whytemead. To mark your child’s special day, they can come to school on their birthday dressed in their own ‘home clothes’ not their school uniform. If their birthday is over the weekend, they can wear their own home clothes on the Friday or Monday.
