Rocksteady bands showcase their talents

The three Whytemead Rocksteady bands played to a record audience yesterday for their Easter term gig.

First up were the Hot Rockers, with members Tallulah, Sam and Will performing their version of the David Guetta / Sia smash Titanium. This was Tallulah and Will's first performance on keyboard and guitar respectively (Will having moved over from keyboard), and with Sam keeping rhythm on the drums, the trio opened the show solidly.

The second band were billed as Wrecking Dinosaurs but seem to have had a last minute change of name to the Dog Man Band. Another trio, this time we had a drummer (Kawhi), guitarist (Logan) and vocalist (Joe). Their chosen song was the Nathan Evans song Wellerman, complete with catchy chorus. The audience participation was fantastic!

The final band - Hexfourth -  was also the biggest with six members: two guitarists, a drummer, a bass player and two keyboard players. Incredibly and impressively, this band performed a song of their own writing! Entitled 'Up, Up and Away!' it was packed with foot tapping beats, memorable riffs and a strong melody. We also got to focus on the different sections, allowing each member to showcase their skills. In this band we had Kathryn and Alex on keyboards, Millie on drums, James and George on guitar and Ben on bass.

So another brilliant show by the Rocksteady bands. If your child is interested in joining the Rocksteady crew, you can find out more information here.
